Hearthstone Reaches 30 Million Players Across All Platforms

hearthstone blizzard game

Hearthstone is Blizzard’s WoW-themed fantasy poker free-to-play video game that can be played on PCs, tablets and phones. Released last year, Hearthstone became massively popular with streamers, such as Kripparrian, Trump and Forsen, drawing in a lot of new players. And now, that number is over 30 million.

Though Hearthstone is very simple to begin with, it quickly provides more than enough challenges for the new player. Many cards don’t simply do damage, they have a special effect when they attack or as they are played, such as freezing the opponent or dispelling an enchantment from a creature. Heroes can equip weapons, gain armor, life, mana and do extra damage when casting spells with the help of their creatures.

Each day, there is a new daily quest which gives gold upon completion. This gold can then be used for purchasing card packs or entering the fickle arena, where players have to choose 30 cards out of 90 randomly provided ones and battle others who did the same. Hearthstone is also unique in that its expansions can be purchased with gold, meaning that even F2P players can keep up with the pace and get all the best cards without spending a dime.

All famous Warcraft characters are also found in Hearthstone, providing the game with a rich, fully fleshed world with its own luxuriously drawn backdrops that invite you to dive in right and take a shot at winning. Hearthstone is exciting, endearing and constantly full of surprises. So, what are you waiting for?
